Random House has posted a synopsis and blurb for the upcoming Drew Karpyshyn novel The Old Republic: Revan…
There’s something out there:
a juggernaut of evil bearing down to crush the Republic—
unless one lone Jedi, shunned and reviled, can stop it.Revan: hero, traitor, conqueror, villain, savior. A Jedi who left Coruscant to defeat Mandalorians—and returned a disciple of the dark side, bent on destroying the Republic. The Jedi Council gave Revan his life back, but the price of redemption was high. His memories have been erased. All that’s left are nightmares—and deep, abiding fear. What exactly happened beyond the Outer Rim? Revan can’t quite remember, yet can’t entirely forget. Somehow he stumbled across a terrible secret that threatens the very existence of the Republic. With no idea what it is, or how to stop it, Revan may very well fail, for he’s never faced a more powerful and diabolic enemy. But only death can stop him from trying.

Since this is the last issue in the Legacy – War comic series, I did my review for #6 a little different. The first part is a mostly spoiler free review and the last portion delves into spoilers with plenty of fair warning so you’ll know where to stop.

May 26, 2011 at 7:46 am | Posted in 501st, Comic Books, Entertainment, Events, Star Wars News | Leave a commentTags: phoenix comicon
The Phoenix Comicon kicks off today in Phoenix, Arizona. The four day event will have some pretty big names in attendance including: Leonard Nemoy, George Takei, Wil Wheaton, Stan Lee, Todd McFarlane, Adam Baldwin, and even Elvira. But for Star Wars fans the big question is what Star Wars notables are going to be there (although George Takei is now a Star Wars notable too). First off Billy Dee Williams (Lando) is going to be there, as well as the 501st Dune Sea Garrison, the Rebel Legion’s Mos Eisley Base, the Mandalorian Mercs Shonare Vhekadla Clan costuming club and the following artists:
- Joe Corroney (Star Wars artist for books, games, trading cards, comic books, posters and magazines)
- Justin Chung (illustrator, sketch artist, and the inspiration for Jedi Knight Kai Justiss)
- Tom Hodges (Clone Wars online web comic)
- David Rabbite (Star Wars Celebration 4 & 5, How to Draw Star Wars, and sketch card artist)
- Denae Frazier (Star Wars Galaxy 6 artist)
- Jason Palmer (Star Wars comic cover artist)
Plus Star Wars author Michael A. Stackpole!
In addition to all the attendees there will be several special events including a zombie beauty pageant, masquerade, and geek prom. For more information you can check out the Phoenix Comicon’s official site.
